Prenatal Massage

Pregnancy massage focuses on addressing the special needs of expecting women. Our policy states as long as the pregnancy is not high risk, services can be performed at any time (from 0-40 weeks) during the term of pregnancy without a doctor's note.

Specially-designed massage tables, cushions, and side-lying postures are used to prevent putting pressure on the abdomen. Using pillows with side-lying postures which have been the most beneficial for my pregnant women.

If you or someone you know could benefit from a prenatal massage, why not Gift A Session! And if the baby comes early the gift certificate never expires.

Did You Know?

When performed by a trained perinatal specialist, many methods of massage and somatic therapies are both effective and safe prenatally and during labor and postpartum periods of women’s pregnancies.

Skilled, appropriate touch facilitates labor, shortening labor times and easing pain and anxiety.

Post Natal Massage

In the postpartum period, specialized techniques rebalance structure, physiology, and emotions of the new mother and may help her to bond with and care for her infant up to 12 weeks after giving birth.

Specialized, advanced training in the anatomy, physiology, complications, precautions, and contraindications is highly recommended, and many practitioners require referrals from physicians prior to therapy.

You can find our Pregnancy Massage Policy Form here, you may print the form to bring with you at your next  session or come in a few minutes early and fill it out.

Pregnant Belly

Prenatally, specific techniques can reduce pregnancy discomforts and concerns and enhance the physiological and emotional well-being of both mother and fetus.

While benefits may vary many pregnant women expressed these benefits:

  • Reduced back and joint pain.

  • Improved circulation.

  • Reduced edema.

  • Minimized leg cramps

  • Easier labor & delivery

  • Better sleep.

Pregnancy

The Technique

With my Pregnancy Massage techniques you can receive a full body massage while side-lying with cushions & pillows. We do not use a pregnancy table.

We utilize our unscented massage lotion for this service however we also offer a Virgin coconut oil option for women who are concerned with a skin sensitivity or allergic reaction.

During your labor term if at any point you become a high-risk pregnancy or high-risk of miscarriage it’s contraindicated to receive service. Also, if you’re experiencing nausea, vomiting, or morning sickness prenatal/pregnancy massage would be good to avoid until the symptoms ease.

If you need some self-care tools to use for support in between massages check out our essentials.

The Prices

For our newbies to massage and/or 1st timers with our highly skilled, trained, licensed and insured therapist we always say start off with no more than an hour and go from there, always making sure both you and the therapist are a good match.

Although we’re confident once you experience this well deserved necessity you’ll make it a much needed priority.
